"Counting to a Thousand... and Back" is an installation of 2000 photographs of 'found' numbers.
It started on a road trip from Cincinnati, Ohio where I had some time to think as I was cruising about the countryside.
Numbers kept popping into my mind. Returning to Vancouver, I completed the project over the next year and a half.
It was a different way to focus on the world around me. As W.E.B Du Bois said, "when you have mastered numbers,
you will in fact no longer be reading numbers, any more than you read words when reading books. You will be reading
meanings."
